Vadsite® the first clear, split-septum needle-free device in the UK
Swindon, UK (PRWEB UK) 30 October 2013 -- Vygon is committed to improving best practice by working with healthcare workers to develop devices that allow them to provide the best care for their patients. Vadsite is a product of this commitment; we have created a device that meets both global opinion recommendations and today’s healthcare workers’ requirements. Vadsite helps reduce CRBSIs through a number of key features that offer improved blood clearing and a low priming volume.
The UK has embraced the concept of aseptic practice to help reduce the contamination of devices, subsequently decreasing the risk of CRBSIs. Vadsite has been ergonomically designed to help reinforce best practice for non-touch technique and offers improved handling functionality. It is also proven to be easy to clean and free from gaps with a smooth split-septum that fits tightly into the clear device housing.
Vadsite is designed to work with all types of pre-filled glass syringes while remaining incompatible with non-IV luer devices such as oral syringes. This patented design includes a straight fixed fluid pathway, designed to provide the most direct and least tortuous route. The fluid pathway is clear static with no moving parts (such as mechanical valves), which reduces the surface area available for biofilm formation.
