Valerie Mchale’s Brings to Light New Poetry Book to Help End Child Abuse
United Kingdom (PRWEB) October 24, 2013 -- Valerie Mchale puts forward an inspirational and insightful poetry collection for young people who are abused and neglected and are too terrified to ask for help titled “Don't Be Afraid To Tell”. This book not only helps them recognize the different forms of abuse, it also shows them where and how to get the help they need if they find themselves suffering from it.
Most, if not all, children do not have any idea that they are already being maltreated, neglected or exploited. These innocent-minded individuals will only interpret such instances as normal ways their parents or guardians deal with them, others having to force themselves to believe so. After all, they are too afraid and oblivious to understand that even those they trust can do unpleasant things to them. The life of a child is fragile and it needs to be protected at all costs. When they are abused, the effects are dreadful. When experienced at a tender age, as mostly happens, a child is left with only the self to blame. Once is all it takes for him or her to suffer serious emotional and psychological consequences.
In this book, readers will understand the different types of abuse done to children. It provides them with knowledge of the acts of cruelty that can shatter their dreams and their future. Young readers are introduced to their rights, while adults are reminded of their responsibilities to raise their children in an environment where they are loved and protected. With easy to follow lines and verses, the troubled are consoled, the hurt patched up, and the distressed reassured. The poems herein do not merely reflect physical abuse, these are real explosions and expressions of one who went through the dark road of abuse.
Mchale aims to beat the gongs louder in breaking the cycle of child abuse through poetry. She envisions a world that is safe for both children and the youth to live and grow in. With “Don't Be Afraid To Tell”, she believes she is a step closer to achieving that dream.

About the Author
Valerie Mchale was born and raised in the north-east of England. She was subjected to neglect and physical and emotional abuse from both parents, except on weekends and school holidays when she stayed with her grandma. Unfortunately, her grandma passed away when she was thirteen. It came a time when they were homeless and slept in train stations and buses, sometimes they broke into other people’s sheds to sleep there. They sometimes found people who would give them a bed for a couple of nights but for a price. She went into foster care around two months before her 15th birthday. She is now thirty-two years old and happily married for eleven years and still counting.
