Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board Shortens the Connection between Patrons and Seatings

The Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board (VFTCB) has launched an initiative to make it easier for patrons to find a seat at the county’s bountiful tables.
The Board’s website, valleyforge.org, now features integration with OpenTable − the world’s leading provider of online restaurant reservations.
“There are many reasons to visit Montgomery County, Pa.,” says VFTCB President and CEO Mike Bowman. “We have the most engaging historic sites, a vivid nightlife, plenty of ways families can engage their little ones, 91 miles of trails, sport possibilities from fishing to skydiving and first class hotels.
“But one of our most popular assets is our restaurant scene. Whether Italian, Greek, German, French, Indian, Asian or good old American, our menus here are magnificent.
“This OpenTable initiative means that visitors can explore our site, map out an incredible itinerary for a long weekend or vacation visit and then guarantee themselves a truly memorable meal,” Bowman continues. “Best of all, our site is interactive, meaning it scales conveniently to tablet and phone use. So even if you’re in the passenger seat of the car and looking for somewhere to grab a bite, a reservation is easy to make.”
“Adding OpenTable creates a direct link between consumers and our member restaurants,” says Zach Brown, VFTCB Online Marketing and Research Manager. “Now, when a visitor finds a restaurant on our website, he or she can make a dinner reservation in seconds.”
Bowman believes the addition of OpenTable furthers the VFTCB’s ongoing embrace of new technology in the travel-tourism industry. The online booking mechanism augments the organization’s virtual tour capability that was launched in October 2015. Called “Montco360” (and available at montco360.net), the site features interactive views of Montgomery County sites – including restaurants – that can be explored in all directions with the swipe of a finger.
Both the OpenTable integration and Montco360 are being pitched to the 21 state and offshore delegates arriving for July’s Democratic National Convention.
