Valley Presbyterian Hospital Announces New Foundation
Van Nuys, CA (PRWEB) February 25, 2016 -- Valley Presbyterian Hospital (VPH), the San Fernando Valley’s only independent, nonprofit hospital is pleased to announce the formation of the Valley Presbyterian Hospital Foundation.
“As the only independent, nonprofit hospital in the Valley, VPH is a longstanding pillar of the community and serves as a safety net for many of the region’s most vulnerable patients,” said Gustavo Valdespino, President and CEO of Valley Presbyterian Hospital. “The Foundation was created solely to raise funds and to provide resources for the hospital in support of its mission to improve the quality of health in the San Fernando Valley.”
The Valley Presbyterian Hospital Foundation is a nonprofit public benefit corporation led by a 12-member board of directors with strong ties to the community.
“The Foundation is dedicated to raising funds to meet the growing medical needs of the community, said David Fleming, Chairman of the Foundation. “With the generous support of our community, we can continue taking care of our community for many years to come.”
The Foundation will cultivate major gifts and planned giving opportunities, conduct annual fundraising campaigns, offer corporate and physician charitable giving programs, host special fundraising and networking events, and pursue grant opportunities.
This year, the Foundation is preparing for two annual fundraising events – the 3rd Annual Celebration of Excellence and the 6th Annual Golf Classic – in support of the hospital’s estimated $8 million Emergency Department renovation. The 3rd Annual Celebration of Excellence event will be held on May 12 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, and the 6th Annual Golf Classic Event will be held on September 26 at North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village. All proceeds from these events will support the expansion and modernization of the hospital’s Emergency Department, which treated more than 65,000 community members in 2015.
“Our diverse community is at the heart of everything we do,” said Pegi Matsuda, Foundation President & Senior Vice President of Community Development. “We are proud to be an organization that makes decisions based on the growing and changing needs of those we serve. Gifts to the Foundation, in any amount, will support us as we strive each and every day to serve our community with high-quality, c
ompassionate care.”
