VAN NUYS, Calif. (PRWEB) April 16, 2015 -- In honor of National Healthcare Volunteer Week, April 12-18, Valley Presbyterian Hospital is proud to recognize, Patricia “Patti” Orsatti, for her outstanding contributions as the hospital’s longest-running volunteer. Ms. Orsatti is celebrating 50 years of service to the hospital and San Fernando Valley community.
Ms. Orsatti started volunteering at Valley Presbyterian Hospital in 1964. Known for her warm smile and natural ability to put others at ease, she has left an indelible mark on the lives of patients, visitors and employees for the past five decades. Ms. Orsatti continues to volunteer almost every Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the hospital’s main information desk.
“It is such a humbling experience to be recognized for doing what you love,” Ms. Orsatti said. “I am extremely proud to be part of the group of volunteers who support Valley Presbyterian Hospital and the community.”
Volunteers play an essential role in the hospital, providing an array of services to assist visitors and staff. In 2014, VPH volunteers contributed a total of 81,236 hours in 48 departments. The volunteer escort office alone responded to a total of 57,848 task requests.
“It is a privilege to honor Ms. Orsatti for her unwavering presence, resilient spirit and commitment to Valley Presbyterian Hospital,” said Virginia Napoles, Director of Volunteer Services. “I always tell people I wish I could clone her because we need more people like her in this world.”
