Vasont Systems Duo Selected to Speak at the Content Management Strategies/DITA North America Conference
EMIGSVILLE, PA (PRWEB) January 29, 2015 -- Vasont Systems’ Suzanne Mescan, Director of Marketing, and Harry Porthouse, Eastern Regional Manager, have been selected by the Center for Information-Development Management (CIDM) to speak at the 2015 Content Management Strategies/DITA North America conference on April 20-22, 2015 in Chicago, Illinois. They will discuss how to identify opportunities in a company for expanding the use of a component content management system (CCMS) in their presentation, “Broadening the Horizons of Your CCMS.”
There are many organizations that purchase a CCMS to manage only one type of content. But what companies don’t always realize is that there could be obvious as well as hidden opportunities to maximize the use of a CCMS in many areas of the organization. In this presentation, Suzanne and Harry will discuss ideas for identifying other departments or divisions that would be a good match for using a CCMS, how to develop a case for the expansion of the CCMS, and how to maneuver the politics between these groups to approach them with ideas and come out with a positive result.
Suzanne Mescan is Vasont Systems’ Director of Marketing, with responsibility for the Company’s marketing and public relations efforts. For more than 25 years, she worked in all aspects of the information management and publishing industry, from content management to editorial and production. Suzanne has authored numerous articles about content management for industry publications and has delivered presentations for the CM Strategies/DITA North America, AIIM, and LavaCon conferences, as well as in industry-related webinars. She was also a contributing author for the book, Virtual Collaborative Writing in the Workplace: Computer-Mediated Communication Technologies and Processes by Beth L. Hewett and Charlotte Robidoux (Eds.).
Harry Porthouse, Vasont Systems’ Regional Sales Manager, covers accounts in the eastern United States and Canada. He brings to Vasont Systems more than 30 years of experience in technical documentation. He has been working with markup technologies since the 1980’s, and he began using XML in 1993. Harry has been dealing with the ever increasing demand for software-as-a-service (SaaS) hosted systems in addition to the traditional server and seat licensing sales. He is responsible for helping potential clients define their content management goals and requirements through assistance with cost benefit analysis and discussions with senior management, as well as through presentations and proposals.
