Vbrick® Highlights Enterprise-Grade Security in Latest Rev® Enterprise Video Platform Release
GARTNER SYMPOSIUM, ORLANDO (PRWEB) October 02, 2017 -- Vbrick today announced new enterprise security enhancements in the latest release of its Rev industry-leading video platform that include the ability for customers to provide and manage their own encryption keys as well as additional safeguards for customer content throughout the video life cycle.
Vbrick now enables customers to provide their own master encryption keys for use with Rev, without Vbrick having direct access to those keys. This advanced capability, provided through Rev’s use of Amazon Web Services S3 Key Management Service, transfers complete ownership of encryption keys to Rev customers, allowing them to own, manage and control access to all of their assets independently of Vbrick. With this feature, customers have the assurance of knowing that they retain complete control of all of their video assets, even when those assets are in the cloud.
Within the Rev platform itself, security features have been enhanced in workflows spanning the life of video assets, from publishing and distribution to storage and content governance.
For distribution, Rev provides security for video playback from the cloud using Akamai, and on premises using the Rev eCDN. Viewers accessing encrypted video from the cloud are authenticated through Rev via integration with Akamai, which provides unique urls to secure live streams and validates user permissions in Rev using an authentication security layer. On premises, the Rev eCDN secures video in transit using encryption for both multicast and unicast streaming.
Security enhancements also have been added to Rev workflows for content governance, retention and enterprise content management. These include policies for video preparation – such as approval, publishing, editing and access controls, for video content integrity – such as content flagging, legal hold and organizational use policies, and video end of life – including automated and dynamic content expiration rules.
“Video security has always been our top priority because it’s often the main reason why companies come to Vbrick, rather than using consumer or public-facing services,” said Shelly Heiden, CEO of Vbrick. “We’ve worked closely with our customers and the Vbrick Customer Advisory Board so we can continue to deliver the enterprise-grade security that Fortune 500 infosec teams demand,” Heiden said.
Vbrick made the announcement at the Gartner Symposium and ITxpo, the world’s leading gathering of IT executives, currently underway. In addition to exhibiting at the show (booth 700), Vbrick will also host a presentation on Wednesday, October 4th, at 3:15 p.m. on “How to Transform your Workplace with Video Collaboration.”
Rev is the next-generation of enterprise video platform, with a cloud-native architecture that delivers the scalability, performance and experience of consumer video sites, such as Netflix or Hulu. Rev delivers robust video management capabilities in the cloud with its own, on-premises enterprise content delivery network. Revs’ end-to-end approach enables organizations to use video ubiquitously by converting it into bandwidth-efficient streams for secure viewing through a web browser from any connected device.
