Vehicle Protection Association (VPA) Applauds Indiana and Missouri Attorneys General on Successful Do Not Call Summit
St. Louis (PRWEB) April 11, 2014 -- The Vehicle Protection Association, a not-for-profit trade association promoting regulatory transparency, education and accountability for marketing and servicing automotive service contracts, announced its support today of the inaugural national No Call Law Enforcement Summit, which was held by Indiana and Missouri attorneys general Greg Zoeller and Chris Koster on April 8 in Indianapolis. The summit focused on new technologies and techniques for investigation and prosecution that can be used to achieve greater compliance.
By gathering representatives from more than 20 attorney general offices, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the summit aimed to find solutions to unwanted solicitation calls made to consumers, many of which are robocalls.
“The Vehicle Protection Association supports Attorneys General Zoeller and Koster in their fight to end illegal robocalling,” said Chris Carenza, executive director of the VPA. “The commitment of the summit’s participants to compliance with state and federal regulations is an effort echoed in the VPA’s own efforts to eliminate robocalling and encourage compliance with Do Not Call legislation.”
The VPA frequently takes proactive measures in regard to robocalling and Do Not Call violations and encourages all marketers and business partners to report any suspicious programs.
VPA members are required to comply with state and federal laws and uphold the VPA Standards of Conduct, which includes best practices established to protect the rights of consumers who purchase vehicle service contracts.
