Velocity Network Launches $50,000 Office Technology Makeover Program
Erie, PA (PRWEB) July 25, 2013 -- Velocity Network, the largest locally owned office technology and fiber optic Internet service provider in Northwestern Pennsylvania, is sponsoring a $50,000 office technology makeover program for Erie County businesses and nonprofits. The official public announcement was made Wednesday, July 24 at 6 p.m. at Brewerie in Union Station.
The program will award two $25,000 makeovers — one to a for-profit business and a second to a nonprofit organization. The makeovers will include office technology products including workstations, security appliances, software, printers and more from Lenovo, Dell Sonicwall, Xerox, Microsoft, and Velocity Network.
By outfitting two Erie-based organizations with the newest and best office technology, Velocity Network hopes to help them improve operations and grow into stronger, more capable enterprises, which in turn, will strengthen the local economy.
“For more than 20 years, the Erie community has helped Velocity Network grow to its leadership position for which we are tremendously grateful. Our Office Technology Makeover Program is a way to show how grateful we are,” said Joel Deuterman, CEO of Velocity Network.
Program guidelines and applications will be available only online at MakeoverMyIT.com. An independent panel of judges comprised of Erie community leaders from both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors will select up to 10 finalists and ultimately the two IT makeover winners.
Applications can be submitted until one-minute-before-midnight on September 20. The winners will be announced on October 22. The for-profit announcement will take place at the Manufacturer and Business Association and the nonprofit announcement will be made at the Bayfront Convention Center during The Nonprofit Partnership’s annual Northwest Pennsylvania Nonprofit Day seminar.
“Velocity is excited to invest in Erie and we look forward to providing two deserving organizations with a technology upgrade to help them grow,” said Joel Deuterman.
