Velom Design Publishes New Zoomable Desktop Application
(PRWEB) January 28, 2014 -- Velom Design released their first application Velom for Windows.
It is a Desktop Viewer and allows it to manage files.
One can see the file content and navigate by zooming in and out.
It is possible to drop photo or video collections on a zoomable surface.
The user can instantly view the media and quickly recover content. Directories and file names are obsolete.
To manage content one can group objects with selections, sort them, show their metadata, or search for properties. If the surface gets cluttered, the user can simply create a new workspace. There is no limit.
It is for Windows desktop and can be downloaded at http://velom.com for $6.99.
About Velom Design
Velom was developed by Christian Stroh, after writing his academic thesis about Zoomable User Interfaces.
The mission can be best described in the words of computer science professor Benjamin B. Bederson:
"Zoomable user interfaces have received a significant amount of attention [...], although the grand vision of a zoomable desktop has not materialised."
