Fort Mill, South Carolina (PRWEB) July 14, 2015 -- VELUX® America has introduced a ready-made instant light shaft kit that allows for faster, easier, airtight completion of the installation of deck mounted skylights on vaulted ceilings. According to Ross Vandermark, national product manager, the prefabricated kit does away with the need for drywall spackling, sanding and painting and works with all “box” type light shafts (not flared).

“The kit is prefabricated,” Vandermark says, “and the installer need only assemble the molding, install mounting clips to the skylight drywall groove, measure and cut panels to the proper depth and join to the molding, align the assembled light shaft to mounting clips and click into place.” The kits are priced at $225 to $250 depending on the size of the skylight being installed.

“This will be a win for both the installer and the homeowner,” Vandermark says,“ with the installer experiencing reduced install time and complexity while avoiding costly delays that sometimes occur when coordinating jobs between tradesmen. This will result in homeowners getting quicker and cleaner completion of the job with less disruption to their schedules.”
