Vendors Have a New Way to Introduce Themselves to Online Shoppers
Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) July 24, 2013 -- Online video is an incredibly powerful medium. Every month there are over 6 billion hours of video watched on YouTube alone (that's almost an hour for every person on Earth, and 50% more than last year) and with over 100 hours of video uploaded every minute the list of available content is growing faster then anyone ever expected. This month a new player in the Video market has opened its doors and is putting a new spin on how people use video to find the services they want and need.
Clue Video, a startup company from Fort Lauderdale, Florida has launched a new service that is getting the attention of their local market. A very interesting amalgamation of Angie’s list and YouTube, this little service has the potential to make a very big mark as it grows.
“We are excited at the possibilities this represents,” Owner and cofounder Michael Safrin said when asked what he though the future would hold for this little start up. “Video is where the search trends are clearly moving. Video gives people what they want when they want it. Consumers want to experience things, to be educated, to engage visually, and that can't be replaced with text, or reviews, or fancy websites,” he continued.
Safrin is not wrong either. According to the YouTube website, they have more then 1 billion unique visitors each month and currently reach more US adults ages 18-34 then any cable network.
“The foundation of our service is to offer a simple way for people to search for local services without having to wade through the ocean of content that comes with many searches. Most people, when their toilet has flooded their bathroom; or when their roof is leaking don't want to learn how to fix it. Watching an hour long video on the finer points of plumbing or electrical engineering or using a specific kind of nail gun is unnecessary. They want to have someone come and fix it for them, someone they can trust, someone who will give them the service they deserve," Safrin continued.
Unlike other business directories, Clue Video is creating a platform that give the person searching an introduction to the business and the business owner. Videos are not just slick animations, or professional voice actors, they are the owners themselves talking about their business and their service as you can see here (Contractor, http://cluevideo.com/business-directory/contractor-home-improvement/businesses/arpin-and-sons-llc, Fitness facility, http://cluevideo.com/business-directory/exercise-physical-fitness-health-clubs-and-gyms/businesses/intense-fitness, Locksmith http://cluevideo.com/business-directory/vehicle-service-and-accessories/businesses/top-flight-locksmiths)
These short videos are taking the traditional business directory in an entirely new direction. Unlike many of their competitors in the market, Clue Video has not built a system that makes their videos an add-on to their listings, they are the listings. This has local business excited and people are all ready seeing real results.
“We have seen some good traction for our ad on Clue Video,” Peter Celnicker from Deliverabilities.com, a local marketing firm who was one of the earliest adopters of the service said. “We love video, we use it to market ourselves and our clients and we see nothing but a very powerful future as Clue Video starts to grow. It was affordable, it is effective and we are getting real calls from real buyers.”
The feedback that is proving most exciting to this little startup is what they are hearing from the consumers that are using the platform to find products and services. “We are told by people who have been using the system that they really enjoy meeting the owners in the listing videos. There is a sense they can get from watching a video of them talking about their business, they can see their passion, their commitment and are then more confident about calling then just picking an ad from a phonebook.”
Currently this service is available in the select counties in both Florida and New York, their future looks bright and their growth seems certain. Video is a powerful medium and surely warrants the attention of all modern business, big and small.
