Venezuelan Energy Company Derwick Associates Seeks Global Expansion
Madrid, Spain (PRWEB) December 25, 2013 -- Venezuelan energy company Derwick Associates is seeking to expand its business to Spain. Directors Leopoldo Alejandro Betancourt López, Pedro Trebbau López, Edgard Romero Lazo and Francisco Convit Guruceaga meet in Spain with the president of the Spanish Association of the Electrical Industry in order to explore their options.
Having already experienced the rigors of intense and rapid growth, Derwick Associates is now exploring opportunities outside of Venezuela in an effort to continue to expand its reach.
A group of directors from Derwick, including Leopoldo Alejandro Betancourt López, Pedro Trebbau López, Edgard Romero Lazo and Francisco Convit Guruceaga, met with the president of the Spanish Association of the Electrical Industry to continue to explore their global options.
According to Edgard Romero Lazo, Spain has a specific appeal. “The Spanish electrical sector is an industrial powerhouse in this country,” said Lazo. “It has a large share of the Gross Domestic Product here, and we believe that this makes for an interesting opportunity for our expansion.”
Lazo is correct regarding Spain’s GDP. The electrical sector makes up for about 1.2 percent of the GDP, giving Derwick Associates plenty of potential room to occupy a portion of the market.
Derwick believes that its experience in Venezuela will allow the company to succeed in just about any situation, as Derwick famously stepped in during the Venezuelan energy crisis to complete the building of 12 power stations. These stations allowed the residents of Venezuela to have better and more reliable access to electricity, where in the past they were prone to extended blackouts. These power station contracts led to the rapid growth and development of Derwick Associates, something that their directors believe has greatly benefited their business acumen.
“Our experience in Venezuela has been well-documented,” began Francisco Convit Guruceaga. “But it does not define us as a business. We do believe, however, that it has helped our company to understand how to effectively and efficiently grow. We feel that we will be able to offer Spain a great deal stemming from our experiences in Venezuela.”
