PHILADELPHIA (PRWEB) April 28, 2015 -- Venture Construction Group sponsors the 25th Annual Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure® on May 10, 2015. The event kicks off with a cancer survivor celebration and parade at Eakins Oval at the Philadelphia Museum of Art at 6:30 a.m. The Race for the Cure 5k run/walk begins at 8 a.m. In addition to the corporate event sponsorship, Venture Construction Group CEO Steve Shanton, staff, construction crew and family are participating in the event and raising monies to donate to Komen Philadelphia.

According to Komen Philadelphia, the success of the Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure® is driven by sponsor generosity and community support to set the pace to continue to empower men, women and children in the fight against breast cancer. Celebrating their 25th year, Komen Philadelphia is celebrating on Mother’s Day in 15 counties throughout Pennsylvania. Their campaign goal is to raise $2.5 million dollars to support breast cancer research. Over 7.4 million people depend on Komen Philadelphia to empower their personal victories over breast cancer.

Komen Philadelphia designates 25 percent of funds towards research. The remainder of funds raised by the Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure is invested locally. In addition, funds support many Komen Philadelphia initiatives designed to meet the specific needs of a diversity of groups, communities and initiatives.
