Cape Town, South Africa (PRWEB) May 01, 2015 -- The founders of the event and vacation venue site, Venuelust, are currently sharing their around-the-globe honeymoon experience with their readers. Jamie and Luke Whittaker are chronicling their travels on venuelust.com and also on honeymoons.com.
After dating for 10 years and running two businesses together, Jamie and Luke were wed in March in Baja Mexico’s wine country, Valle de Guadalupe. The couple then set off on their honeymoon, staying at many of the same venues that are listed on their site. According to Jamie, the goal of this trip is to experience the unique resorts and inns that are listed on the site and also to define what the term “venuelust” means:
“As the founders of Venuelust.com, we have seen many incredible venues and spaces on paper, but how can we recommend these venues to our audience if we’ve never experienced them first-hand? With so many travel and venue directory websites, it was difficult to find places that were not over-saturated by chain hotels and were not your typical run-of-the-mill vacation and honeymoon venues. We are seeking out places that offer extraordinary experiences that you can’t get from mainstream venues. Finding and sharing these special accommodations and event spaces is really what is at the heart of Venueust.”
After their Baja wedding, Luke and Jamie took a journey to South Africa. While there, they stayed in private estates, luxury tented camps, safari lodges and even a private island.
The Whittaker’s South Africa itinerary illustrates the type of accommodations and experiences that find a home on Venuelust. For example, the couple spent time at Singita Lebombo Lodge in Kruger National Park. This small resort has seven “eagles nest” suites, which are perched on the hillside overlooking the park’s wildlife-filled lowlands.
Luke and Jamie also traveled on the famously luxurious Blue Train from Cape Town to Pretoria. They then moved on from South Africa to Zambia, where they stayed in a tree house in the Zambian safari resort, Tongabezi, and also in the newly-opened Chinzombo Safari Lodge on the remote Luangwa River.
The next leg of their journey took Luke and Jamie to Mozambique and the Maldives. They stayed at Azura Quilalea, a private island resort in the Quirimbas Archipelago, before moving to the middle of the Indian Ocean to Gili Lankanfushi, a Maldivian resort that was rated #1 in the world by Tripadvisor in 2014. While on the Maldives, the couple also spent a few nights at the Amilla Fushi, a private island resort that was only recently opened.
The current leg of their journey has brought Luke and Jamie to the Ceylon Tea Trails in Sri Lanka. This resort consists of four colonial-era tea planters' bungalows that are connected by trails that run through tea fields.
After Sri Lanka, the Whitakers will continue their journey and make their way across the globe experiencing and sharing unique luxury venues. Readers can continue to follow their travels and read real time reviews and travel tips on venuelust.com and honeymoons.com.
