Verity Voting System Landing Lights Granted US Patent
Austin, TX (PRWEB) July 14, 2015 -- Hart InterCivic, Inc. announced today that it has been issued U.S. Patent Number 8985435, titled “Landing Lights for Multi-Purpose Configurable Voting System.” This voter-centric invention will assist voters when casting a ballot on the Verity™ Scan voting solution.
Key Facts
• Verity Scan is a digital scanning device voters use to cast a paper ballot.
• Modeled after airport landing lights, Verity Scan’s landing lights design provides an intuitive user interface to visually indicate scan status to voters. A green-strobing light pattern indicates when the scanner is able to accept a ballot from the voter, directing the voter to insert his or her marked ballot. If the scanner is busy processing a ballot and is not able to accept another ballot, the pattern changes to a non-strobing red pattern, thus indicating that the scanner is busy.
• U.S. Patent No. 8985435 is the first patent in a series of submissions Hart anticipates the United States Patent and Trademark Office will approve related to the Verity Voting system.
