VersaLogic announces FireWire expansion module for Mini PCIe sockets
Tualatin, Oregon (PRWEB) January 26, 2016 -- VersaLogic, the embedded industry's most trusted computer company, today announced the FW1, a new FireWire Mini PCIe expansion module for embedded computer systems. The rugged module provides a simple, standardized way to add 2 channels of 1394 FireWire to most embedded computing systems. It provides one FireWire 800 (1394b) and one FireWire 400 (1394a) channel and features operation over the full industrial temperature range (-40° to +85°C).
The FW1’s extremely small Mini PCIe format allows it to be added to a board with very little impact to the overall size of the system. The FW1 is compatible with a variety of popular x86 operating systems including Windows, Windows Embedded, and Linux using standard software drivers.

Designed, Manufactured and Tested for Extreme Environments
The FW1 module is designed and tested for industrial temperature (-40º to +85ºC) operation and meets MIL-STD-202G specifications to withstand high impact and vibration. A latching connector on the FireWire 400 channel provides additional protection within harsh environments.
