VETcation Foundation Announces Official Launch
Indian Rocks Beach, FL (PRWEB) July 09, 2015 -- Today, VETcation Foundation, a 501 (c) 3 certified Nonprofit Organization dedicated to alleviating the burdens that are faced by many veterans and military families across the United States is officially announcing the launch of their website http://www.VETcation.org where they are officially accepting service member applications and donations.
VETcation is a unique organization that recognizes the existing challenges and needs amongst our veterans and service members. With 250,000 service members re-entering civilian life each year and veteran unemployment rates still in the double digits, coming home with good health is no longer the only primary concern for service members. "Witnessing the difficulties that many veterans and service members face first hand has always been extremely difficult which is why this project hits very close to home for us, it is why and how the VETcation Foundation came to be. It is an honor and pleasure to announce the launch of the VETcation Foundation. We hope to touch and change the lives of many," stated VETcation’s President John Meara. It seeks to provide veterans with 5 star all inclusive vacations that focus on rest, relaxation, recuperation, and a chance to spend quality family time together which some veteran families desperately need.
VETcation will be sending its first Veteran Family on Vacation in August to The Moon Palace and with help from the public as well as Corporate Sponsors, they are hoping to send several Veterans and Veteran Families every month, so please help them reach that goal by making a donation on their website today, simply go to http://www.VETcation.org and click on How To Help
Here is a little background on our first family we have selected to send in August 2015:
Sergeant First Class Todd J. was medically retired from active service on Jan 2015, after 31 years, due to injuries sustained while on his last deployment. Todd was assigned to (Airborne) Fort Bragg, NC as a Special Forces Weapons Sergeant. After he sustained his injuries from the IED explosion he made the decision to stay in country with his unit because if they sent him home he knew they would be short handed which increases the chances of more Soldiers/teammates being injured or killed. He received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star with Valor for his efforts. He has been deployed 15 times during his career.
Injuries:
-Traumatic Brain Injury from IED explosion
-Multiple shoulder surgeries from IED explosion
-Permanent fractured bone in face between right eye and nose (IED explosion)
-screws and pins in ancle and arm from constant years of training and being an airborne Soldier
-broken coccyx bone
He is married to his wife of 7 years Toni and have 2 lovely children Alex and Amy. Todd is not only revered by the Special Forces community for being a lead from the front selfless Soldier but also by his family and friends as the loving family man that can be seen everyday walking around the neighborhood playing with his kids.
Donate to this wonderful cause and together we can all make a difference, also like them on Facebook
