Vets for Success: How to Hire and Work with Veterans in the AEC Professions
(PRWEB) April 17, 2014 -- Veterans make great architects, engineers and builders. How do you tap this valuable pool of employees? How do you translate their experience into your needs? And what kinds of special skills do they bring to the architecture, engineering, and construction community?
A continuing education panel discussion at 6 p.m. on May 15 at the DORMA Design Center will look at these questions and more.
Hiring veterans is more than patriotic; it makes good business sense. Veterans come to the job with valuable skills, such as dedication and discipline. They are imbued with loyalty to their fellow workers and supervisors. They get things done on schedule for the sake of their team.
The panelists will explore the place of American veterans’ extraordinary skills and experience in the architecture/engineering/contracting community. Vets for Success will examine the particular strengths of this unique labor pool, and consider the best ways to bring veterans into the AEC sphere.

Check-in for the event (and a wine and snacks reception) is 5:30-6 p.m.. The panel presentation runs from 6 to 7:30, followed by questions and a networking session until 9 p.m. Architect and engineer attendees earn 1 CES LU/HSW.
