Vets Plus and Times Square Foods team up to expand distribution of My Skinny dog treats
Menomonie, Wis. (PRWEB) June 09, 2015 -- Vets Plus, Inc., the manufacturer of My Skinny, will now be the distributor for the line of 12 soft chew and jerky treats for dogs as well. The company will bring the treats to new channels, including pet specialty and veterinary, and expand the line.
My Skinny products include low-calorie, low-fat soft chews and jerky intended to provide a healthy treat option for all dogs. Pet obesity is on the rise; in fact, the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention estimates over half of dogs and cats in the US are overweight or obese. Made with real meat, My Skinny treats are a great snack option for pets to maintain healthy eating.
Vets Plus has been manufacturing several of the treats; with this agreement, Vets Plus will become the exclusive manufacturer for the entire line of soft chews and jerky. Ricky Singh, CEO and chairman of Times Square Foods said, “We’re excited to join forces with Vets Plus and utilize their expertise in manufacturing and research to grow the brand and better serve our customers.”
Rick Haxton, National Accounts Manager – Food, Drug, and Mass is leading the partnership on the Vets Plus side. His first priority will be to broaden the distribution base to include pet specialty and veterinary clinics. Haxton said, “We will be partnering with brokers to support us in each channel to reach new markets with these treats.”
Haxton and Singh both expressed their enthusiasm for the partnership. Haxton said, “The treat market is exploding right now and with My Skinny we have a great opportunity to bring an established brand to a new customer base. We plan to expand the line with new functional treat formulations and possibly supplements down the road.”
