Vets Plus, Inc. and University of Minnesota Renew Consulting Contract for Veterinary Supplements
Menomonie, Wis. (PRWEB) December 23, 2013 -- Vets Plus, Inc. and the University of Minnesota are pleased to announce the renewal of a consultancy agreement for veterinary supplements. The University’s College of Pharmacy has provided the animal nutrition company with consultation on formulations for new products since 2009; the agreement renews the contract through 2015.
The agreement between the University of Minnesota and Vets Plus, Inc. allows the company access to additional analysis of their science-based nutritional supplements. This involves testing for shelf life, side effect profiles, and formulation compatibility as well as analysis of similar products for comparison.
President and CEO of Vets Plus, Raj Lall explained the advantage to the consultancy relationship, saying, “Working with the University means we can more thoroughly analyze our products and make improvements in our formulations.” He continued, “We’ve had the opportunity to explore new nutraceutical ingredients to create the most efficacious nutritional solution for pets and large animals.”
College of Pharmacy Professor Dr. W. Thomas Shier has provided input on formulations since Vets Plus began in 1990. Dr. Shier was a mentor to Lall while Lall earned his master’s degree and continued to offer his expert advice as Lall expanded his business to include a broad range of nutritional supplements for all species. Lall said, “We are fortunate to work closely with the University and have Dr. Shier consult with us. His wealth of experience and knowledge on the formulation side has been invaluable.”
Lall said he looks forward to the continued relationship with the University and is grateful for their extensive laboratory resources. Lall said, “Utilizing their testing ability, we can easily show our customers the science behind our products and the proven results of each formulation.”
