Viator Launches Italian-Language Website
San Francisco, Calif. (PRWEB) July 21, 2015 -- Viator, the leading resource for researching and booking tours and activities worldwide and a TripAdvisor company, today announced the launch of the company’s 10th local-language website, Italian, available to travelers at it.viator.com.
Viator’s Italian-language site is the most recent addition to the company’s selection of local-language sites, developed to better serve travelers in growing online travel markets. The new Italian site joins seven European focused local-language sites – French, German and Spanish (2009) and Danish, Dutch, Norwegian and Swedish (2010); as well as the company’s Japanese-language site launched in 2011 and Brazilian Portuguese launched in 2012.
“At Viator, our goal is to provide travelers with access to the most amazing insider travel experiences everywhere they go, and the tools they need to book them,” said Barrie Seidenberg, CEO of Viator. “Enabling our customers to research and select the tour that is just right for them in the language they’re most comfortable with makes the booking experience that much simpler and creates an enhanced end-to-end user experience.”
Growing Market Opportunity
In 2013, PhoCusWright estimated that more than one-third* (36%) of leisure and unmanaged business travel would be booked online in Italy in 2015, representing a growing market opportunity. As increasing online penetration helps drive growth in sales, PhoCusWright estimated that gross travel bookings would reach €21.4 billion in 2015.
Italian Travelers – Where They’re Going (including Italy!)
Soft-launched in June, the Italian-language site is already generating traffic and bookings. Among the most popular destinations being booked by Viator’s Italian-speaking customers are cities within their own home country, as well as destinations across Europe and beyond:
• Europe and the UK: Rome, Milan, Paris, London and Barcelona
• North America: New York City and Las Vegas (the Grand Canyon)
• Asia: Tokyo
Helpful for anyone planning a trip during the busy summer travel season, the new site will let Viator’s Italian customers secure the benefits of booking their activities before arriving in their destination including:
• Skip the line access at the world’s most popular attractions like The Vatican and the Eiffel Tower
• Confirmed reservations for likely-to-sell-out experiences: VIP Tour of Versailles
• The best prices, guaranteed.
