Vic Currier Unravels Little Known Life of One Historical Figure
RUIDOSO, N.M. (PRWEB) July 14, 2015 -- Author Vic Currier met Former Deputy Director of Central Intelligence and Eisenhower’s national security advisor, William Harding Jackson, during the Christmas holidays of 1969-70 while he was on leave from combat duty in Vietnam. Mr. Jackson is the inspiration for this intriguing, little known life story in “Good-bye, Lord, I’m Going To New York” (published by Xlibris).
William Harding Jackson was born into Southern aristocracy in Nashville, Tennessee, where he inherited the world famous Belle Meade Plantation, Mansion and Stud farm at the age of 2. After attending Princeton and Harvard, Jackson became a very successful Wall Street attorney from 1928 until World War II began in 1941-42, when he volunteered for the US Army-Air Force at age 41. The book is the story of Jackson’s influence on US intelligence gathering and its early beginnings, peppered with stories of his amazing public life filled with innovative venture capital ideas, philanthropy, racial integration and legal battles on Wall Street – all while Jackson was hiding in plain sight under strict secrecy, helping to build the US Central Intelligence Agency.
“Good-bye, Lord, I’m Going To New York” changes history. It is a good story based largely on recently declassified documents from the Soviet, British and American national archives about a very interesting but little known historical figure.
