Victoria Ngangu Releases Her New Book, In The Heart of Our Souls
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 28, 2014 -- African-born author shares her story of life and the stories of her ancestors in the Kingdom of Congo. Victoria takes readers on a journey through the eyes of the people.
Victoria Ngangu is proud to announce the release of her new book, In The Heart of Our Souls. Her story begins with her Great Grandparents who were royalty and related to the King of the Congo in R.D. of Congo.
Her story is the poignant tale of how important family ties are and the great need for us to pass on our teachings to each generation regardless of what’s going on in the world. Victoria’s family manages to remain together and pass on the traditions of their ancestors in spite of many hardships.
As a child, Victoria loses her mother to breast cancer, a disease that was not well known in those days and in that region. Just a short time later, she loses her father as well who never seems to recover from the loss of his wife. Victoria and her siblings are left to raise themselves and yet somehow they manage by sticking together regardless of what life throws at them.
The author had this to say: “I was born in R.D. of Congo. That region of the world is still undergoing changes even today. Wars and changes in the government have kept this region unstable. In spite of this, thousands of families still remain there today carrying on the traditions of their ancestors and passing on the lessons they were taught as children.”
In The Heart of Our Souls reinforces how resilient the human spirit can be. In spite of what may come, the human need for survival is very strong. Her story highlights her family’s struggle after losing their parents but also illustrates how strong the link between families really is.
The author has also written children’s stories, which can be purchased on CD at her website in English and French. Victoria Ngangu was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo. She came to the United States in 1987 where she wrote her first book, “Eyes of Africa”, In The Eyes of Africa.
