Video and Photo Contest Opens as Another Initiative of the Chianti Star Festival 2014
Florence, Italy (PRWEB) July 15, 2014 -- The Anèmic Association in Florence that works closely with the organizers of the Chianti Star Festival, Studio Abba, has launched a video and photographic contest.
The Contest is open to all who are over 18 years of age, either those who are new to photography and video or are aspiring professional photographers. It is a stimulating and fun opportunity for all participants to present a photo or video inspired by one of the following two themes: 1) Art and Science 2) The Tuscan Landscape. The landscape of Tuscany with its nuances of color, atmosphere, architecture and the natural environment as a "work of art" has inspired so many to photograph or video it but it is still there to be discovered and represented and transformed through video or photography. Participants are invited to interpret the landscape in the Chianti region, in any of its aspects: its natural environment, architecture or monuments.
Each participant can submit only one video or photo. The maximum duration of the videos is 10 minutes including titles. The prize is an enviable weekend stay in a Chianti tourism structure during the Opening of the Chianti Star Festival 2015. The closing date for the Contest is 30 April 2015.
Gabriele Rizza, journalist, expert in film and theatre and member of the Chianti Star Festival Jury, said:
"Science and art over the centuries have woven their own stories in an effort to understand, express and 'transform' reality. The new multimedia technologies also allow us to reinterpret it, and to express art through the tools of science."

The main event is an art exhibition including painting, sculpture, photography and digital art by international artists showing their latest work at Palazzo Malaspina in San Donato in Poggio. The Fattoria Montecchio, thanks to its artistic terracotta kilns, present works created by the artists Agneta Gynning and Eugenio Riotto. The Abbey of Badia a Passignano, in addition to hosting concerts, is currently exhibiting a glass installation, Radici by Giovanna Lysy in the suggestive gardens.

The jury chaired by Roberto Casalbuoni, awarded the winning artists with the limited edition terracotta statuette by artist Eugenio Riotto at the Auditorium of the Cantina Antinori in the Chianti Classico area. First prize went to Emmanuel De Brito; second prize to Linda K. & Theodore M. Shinkle and joint third prize to Agneta Gynning and Catherine Daubresse.
