Videomaker Announces 2014 Workshop Schedule
Chico, CA (PRWEB) December 25, 2013 -- Because it’s impossible to know what you don’t know, Videomaker workshops provide hands-on experience to give attendees a thorough exploration of video production theory and technique. Attendees come from all over the world to the Videomaker headquarters in Chico, California to get an uninterrupted weekend of video production training.
Learning face-to-face with professional instructors is the focus of these comprehensive video production workshops. Starting Friday morning with lectures, the workshops quickly move to a hands-on format in the afternoon and for the remainder of the weekend attendees work together with their instructor.
The Basics of Video Production workshop is the broad-gauge course that guides attendees through a full production from script to finished project. This approach allows attendees to learn each aspect of filmmaking: planning, shooting, lighting, audio, and editing. Mike Wilhelm, Content Manager and Lead Instructor for Videomaker, says, “We’ve found that the best way for attendees to learn is to put them in as many real world situations as possible and guide them through each challenge.”
Three different concentrated courses are also part of the 2014 video production training schedule. The Intensive Lighting workshop guides attendees through various lighting setups and specialty lighting techniques. The Intensive Editing workshop supplies each attendee with an editing laptop and guides them through a project using professional Adobe editing software. The Intensive Shooting workshop puts DSLR cameras in the attendees' hands to shoot in various environments.
A recent attendee of the Intensive Editing workshop, Tom Kalajian of Orange County, said, “It’s the most effective and efficient way to get your skill level up to a point where you can at least begin to call yourself a professional.” Workshop attendees also use the weekend to network with other videographers and spend time asking questions of Videomaker’s staff. “I’m in the process of becoming a professional videographer,” Kalajian stated.
The first workshop starts February 7, 2014 with two courses to choose from: Basics of Video Production and Intensive Lighting. Videomaker’s headquarters in Chico, California features a video studio and breakout rooms for video editing. The area also hosts some key attractions like the Sierra Nevada Brewery, the National Yo-Yo Museum, and one of the largest municipal parks in the country. Just an hour and half drive to the east is Lassen National Volcanic Park, featuring the largest plug dome volcano in the world.
