Videxio Announces Skype for Business Gateway-as-a-Service Within the Microsoft Azure Cloud
Oslo, Norway (PRWEB) September 25, 2017 -- Videxio, a provider of videoconferencing as a service, today announced that it will utilize the Microsoft Azure Cloud as the platform for its new videoconferencing gateway service. The service enables users of dedicated videoconferencing devices to join Skype meetings and ensures seamless cross-platform communication in a Skype for Business environment.
As thousands of companies roll out Skype for Business as their primary collaboration platform, many face the challenge of system interoperability with their existing videoconferencing devices from vendors such as Cisco, Polycom, Huawei, and others. In addition, many companies have seen the need for the connection to happen within the native user experience with which their employees are familiar.
The new solution ensures that both Skype and videoconferencing system users retain their native meeting and call experiences. A Skype user hosts a Skype meeting, and a videoconferencing system user joins a video call. Collaborators can also connect directly point-to-point from one technology to the other, without having to schedule a meeting. As the meeting experience is retained across technologies, users will not need to learn something new, or worry about how to connect into the meeting.

Videxio has worked closely with its technology partner, Pexip, to realize the VTC Gateway as a Service in Microsoft Azure. “The combination of the Pexip gateway, which is Certified for Skype for Business Server, deployed in Azure, and Videxio’s calling platform is a winning combination. Together, the solution makes it easy to integrate and consume the previously incompatible technologies. We are excited about this becoming available in the market in the near future,” says Åsmund O. The solution will be demoed for the first time at Microsoft Ignite in Orlando from 25 – 29th September (Pexip booth #1001). The solution will work with Skype for Business online as well as on-premise and hybrid Skype for Business environments and will be commercially available in Q4 for video conferencing systems hosted on the Videxio cloud.
