Videxio’s WebRTC Integration Expands the Market for Business Quality Video
Oslo, Norway (PRWEB) October 29, 2013 -- Cloud video services provider, Videxio, today announced the integration of browser-based WebRTC into their service, enabling high quality audio and video communications directly in a browser without the need to install a client. Leveraging their global quality of service (QoS) video network, this Videxio-first will enable seamless collaboration between traditional H323/SIP video conferencing, browser-based video and other solutions such as Microsoft Lync.
“Videxio’s mission is to accelerate the adoption and use of video conferencing by simplifying and enhancing the user experience,” commented Tom-Erik Lia, CEO of Videxio. “We are now further enhancing the ability of our user community to collaborate across video platforms and between the devices and solutions that they want to use.”
A recent report by Disruptive Analysis shows that there will be three billion capable devices and one billion individual users able to run browser-based video communications (WebRTC) by the end of 2016. With this announcement, Videxio is taking interoperability to a new level in order to meet the demands of this growing market.
According to Robert Arnold, Principal Analyst at Frost & Sullivan, "WebRTC presents a shift away from traditionally rigid on-premise products to more flexible software and cloud-based video solutions for business users. The integration of this functionality into a cloud video conferencing service means that Videxio partners will be able to deploy WebRTC to accelerate the widespread usage and adoption of business quality video."
“Videxio’s WebRTC application is going to be a game changer in how it enables the masses to participate in business quality video collaboration,” noted Michael Stanton-Jones, Product Manager for Converged Communications at Vodafone. “This will revolutionize the reach of video conferencing by reducing the perceived complexity of joining a video collaboration event. Expanding collaboration sessions both in and outside the enterprise via WebRTC links will enable companies to maintain a tight relationship with staff, customers and partners.”
The Chrome or Firefox browser-based (WebRTC) client is available upon request for Videxio’s Virtual Meeting Room services and will be commercially available in Q1, 2014. This integration supplements Videxio’s robust interoperability with H323/SIP video conferencing, Microsoft Lync & traditional telephony.
