Viks® has Arrived in North America
ATLANTA (PRWEB) December 13, 2016 -- Viks® North America LLC. / Viks® & Velonia Bicycles, One of the world's leading custom handcrafted bespoke studios have partnered and opened an office in the United States. The company will operate under the name Viks® North America, headquarter in Atlanta, Georgia.
Sitting in a small cafe on an autumn afternoon 2012 in search of a unique two-wheeler to ride to work, Estonian designer / engineer and co-managing director of Velonia Bicycles / Viks, Indrek Narusk decided to build one himself. Inspired by classic cafe racer-style motorcycles, sketched out the Viks (roughly translating to "classy" or "gentlemanlike") which would be a little bit different, and definitely not boring constructed entirely from high-quality stainless steel tubes (or of both carbon fiber and stainless steel), making for a durable bike that's still relatively lightweight when compared to urban commuters on a wider scale.. Its unique shape is made up of two identical tube frames joined alongside each other, meeting at a single head tube, seat tube, and bottom bracket. Featuring either a fixed gear or a coaster brake hub as standard factory setup, it's the ideal bike for cruising through flat cities either on the way to work or out for the night. Available in a number of customizable configurations, and a range of powder-coated, or wet paint colors and other surface treatments, this is a city bike that you can really make your own. Every Viks bicycle is crafted by hand to each individual owner’s specifications. The ride is quite sporty, but comfortable; even though there is no seat tube, the frame is very rigid and does not flex. The 30mm handlebars feel good without the grips. Viks wasn’t created to be an attention seeker, but it still turns heads everywhere you go: being ridden or simply parked outside a cafe.
In Estonian “Viks“ means classy, gentlemanlike, polite. At the same time it sounds “fixed” like fixed gear… this was the initial idea at first – a fixed gear commuter. Today it’s a lot more – front disc- or rim brake, electronic shifting and belt drive are available among other features. VIKS has given us an impulse to go even further. The prototype of the second anniversary version of Viks, is made from carbon tubing and built to celebrate Viks bicycle second birthday, which we’re currently ready to accept limited pre-orders in early 2017.
We encourage people to get involved in the process and work with us creating their most beautiful bike out there. You are welcome to express your own vision of what your bicycle should be. The café racer’s low handlebars, stainless steel frame and unlimited ways of customization, create multiple ways of making it even more unique and personal.
But you should remember – minimum is maximum. Less is more.
Viks is the perfect vehicle for the conscious big city commuter. It is not only beautiful, but practical. Viks is not for 100mph days as café racer motorbike will do, but it will take you anywhere you need with a very special flair.
We are honored to have received global attention and recognition. However, at the same time it’s of most importance for us to make sure that our clients are happy, and for us to receive positive feedback from each client. One thing is obvious – we do not want Viks to be a one hit wonder and disappear at the same pace we came onto the market. We’d like to see Viks become one of the classic bikes that gains extra value with its years.
