The 13th annual awards showcase 8,151 winning properties worldwide, covering eight regions around the globe. Travelers’ Choice award winners were determined based on the millions of reviews and opinions collected in a single year from TripAdvisor travelers worldwide. The hallmarks of Travelers’ Choice winners are remarkable service, quality and value, while taking into account the quality and quantity of traveler reviews and opinions and traveler ratings specific to each award category.

The 2015 Traveler’s Choice Award is not the first time Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto has been recognized by TripAdvisor. Last year marked the third year in a row that the resort received a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Award, which is bestowed to the top 10 percent of businesses and an elite group of resorts, representing the upper echelon of hospitality businesses worldwide. The prestigious award celebrates hospitality excellence and is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveler reviews on TripAdvisor.
To qualify for the Certificate of Excellence, businesses must maintain an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, as reviewed by travelers on TripAdvisor. Villa del Palmar at the Islands maintains four-and-a-half stars out of five. Additional criteria include the volume of reviews received within the last 12 months.
