Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto to Welcome Additional Travelers Via Alaska Airlines and WestJet
Islands of Loreto, Baja California Sur, Mexico (PRWEB) July 16, 2015 -- Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto, Baja’s first “million star” resort, is thrilled to welcome more travelers to the region thanks to the addition of seats on nonstop flights from Los Angeles to the Islands of Loreto on Alaska Airlines, as well as the launch of an additional weekly service on WestJet between Calgary, Canada and the Islands of Loreto.
“With more seats on direct flights from Alaska Airlines and an expanded flight schedule on WestJet, we’re enthusiastic about travelers’ continued interest in exploring Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto,” said Owen Perry, co-owner and president of Villa Group. “Tourism to the Islands of Loreto is thriving and we’re grateful to have partners like Alaska Airlines and WestJet who share our commitment to the Baja region as a booming destination.”
Alaska Airlines is expected to up-gauge its flights from Los Angeles to Loreto, increasing seats by about 50 percent. Beginning November 1, flights from Los Angeles to the Islands of Loreto will be operated Thursday through Sunday using Boeing 737 jets rather than Bombardier Q400 aircraft.
In addition to increased seats on nonstop Alaska Airlines flights to Loreto, WestJet, Canada's most-preferred airline, will expand its nonstop service between Calgary, Canada and the Islands of Loreto to twice weekly on a seasonal basis beginning February 10, 2016.
Flights will be operated on WestJet’s fleet of Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft, with flights available on Wednesdays and Saturdays, offering more options for travelers looking to visit Loreto.
The addition of service from Calgary signifies a continued interest in the Islands of Loreto as a vacation destination for both domestic and international travelers.
Nestled in the majestic Sierra de la Giganta mountain range and situated on one of the most pristine coastlines in the world along the Sea of Cortez, Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto allows guests to enjoy the unspoiled beauty and charm of the Baja, including unobstructed nighttime views of “a million” stars.
In the past four years, Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto has grown rapidly in popularity with adventure-seekers and connoisseurs of pure relaxation alike.
An outdoor explorer’s paradise, the resort offers a full slate of adventure, including stand-up paddle boarding, glass-bottom kayaking, hiking and PADI-certified SCUBA diving lessons in the indigo waters that explorer Jacques Cousteau once dubbed the “Aquarium of the World.”
Expanded offerings include glamping (or “glamorous camping”) in a luxury beachfront Danzante Bungalow, world-class sport fishing aboard the resort’s Mad Dash tournament boat, and tours of the nearby Coronado, Danzante and Del Carmen Islands atop an APEX boat. The resort is currently preparing for the addition of a 7,400-yard Rees Jones-designed golf course this fall that will overlook the breathtaking Danzante Bay and the Sea of Cortez.
If relaxation and re-connection are on the agenda, guests can take advantage of 39,000 square feet of pampering at the resort’s award-winning Sabila Spa and Wellness Center, as well as beachfront yoga, five swimming pools, themed nights and three restaurants offering gourmet dining.
With more than 100 miles of coastline, 300 sunny days a year and year-round surface temperatures averaging in the 80s, the Islands of Loreto offers the perfect getaway.
