Vintage Bike Show and Brunswick Stew Cook-Off Mar. 14 at Ray Price to Benefit Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation
Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) March 10, 2015 -- Spring has sprung, so it’s time to kick-start your bike to get your grub on for charity. Ray Price Harley-Davidson and Ray Price Triumph will host the annual Ladies of Harley Pancake Breakfast and the popular Brunswick Stew Cook-off on Saturday, March 14, 2015. All proceeds benefit the North Carolina-based Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and the Ladies of Harley charities. The family friendly event will also feature a vintage British car and bike show, plus a motorcycle parts swap meet.
The Ladies of Harley Pancake Breakfast takes place from 8 to 10 a.m. An $8 donation means all-you-can eat breakfast. At noon, the Brunswick Stew Cook-Off hits its boiling point. A $5 donation enables attendees to have all-you-can-eat stew from up to 12 chefs. The charity cook-off brings together area families, church groups and restaurants who cook up their best stew recipes at this fundraiser. Competition is fierce with cash prizes awarded for First ($500), Second ($250) and Third Place ($100), as well as a People’s Choice trophy. Last year the event raised $2,700 for charity.
“You can’t go wrong with a breakfast of pancakes and a lunch of Brunswick stew,” said Kris Weiss of Ray Price, Inc. “This is a great opportunity for the community to come together to support children and families who benefit from the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and other great, local charities.”
The nonprofit Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation is dedicated to finding the cause and a cure for childhood brain tumors by supporting medical research and helping children and families affected by this disease.
Ladies of Harley are Raleigh H.O.G. (Harley Owners Group) members who meet regularly for rides and philanthropy. All proceeds from their Pancake Breakfast will benefit Open Door Clinic, Food Bank of Eastern N.C., and Women Veterans Support Services.
Swap Meet and Triumph Vintage Day --
If pancakes and Brunswick stew aren’t enough, a parts swap meet and vintage British car and bike show will take place Saturday. Individuals and professional bike accessory and parts suppliers will participate.
The 3rd annual Triumph Vintage Day also welcomes all makes and models of classic bikes, modern-retro bikes, and vintage British cars. Durham-based nonprofit Ton-Up Motorcycle Club will showcase recent restorations and discuss riding, restoring and racing vintage motorcycles. All makes and models, from Triumph to Norton to BSA, will be represented. The event features live music by The British Invaders.
