Vintage Concert Poster Buyer Announces His Search For 1964 Rolling Stones Carnegie Hall Boxing Style Concert Posters
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) September 12, 2013 -- Vintage concert poster buyer Andrew Hawley from Vintage Rock Posters announces his search for 1964 Rolling Stones Carnegie Hall boxing style concert posters. The Stones followed the Beatles in the summer of 1964 onto the big stage of New York City and introduced their music to America. According to Hawley, “The Stones, unlike many of early rock 'n roll shows in the United States, drew a decent sized crowd at the Carnegie Hall and put on a great show. The Carnegie Hall was the first major stage for The Beatles in 1964, Bob Dylan in 1965 and Led Zeppelin in 1969. What is amazing, only days after their New York concert, the Stones New Haven concert was cancelled because of lack of ticket sales.”
Hawley adds, “The poster used to advertise the Stones Carnegie Hall show measures approximately 14x22 inches. It is a great example of a pre-fillmore, boxing style rock poster. In comparison to later Stones 1964 tour posters, it is plain. The Carnegie poster features promo photos of the band and some straight forward lettering. The show was promoted by Billy Fields and the poster was printed by Warner poster company located in New York City. The New Haven Stones poster used several days later was printed by Murray posters also located in New York.”
Hawley will pay $5,000 cash for any original Rolling Stones Carnegie Hall boxing style concert posters or another vintage 1964 to 1966 Stones concert posters. Please call 310-346-1965 or email andrew(at)vintageconcertposterbuyer(dot)com.
