Virginia Beach Youth Development Park Moving Forward
Richmond, VA (PRWEB) September 18, 2013 -- A groundbreaking ceremony marked the beginning of construction for the Princess Anne Little League Youth Development Park on Thursday, September 12. Mayor, William D. Sessoms, Jr. and key officials gathered to celebrate the new construction for the 28.58 acre city park. Timmons Group, a leader in multi-discipline civil engineering and professional consulting services, provided site plan development and landscape plans for the project, which is scheduled to open Phase 1 by the end of this year.
In collaboration with The City of Virginia Beach and The Cal Ripken Senior Foundation, the multi-purpose youth development park off of Dam Neck Road will offer the youth a safe, positive environment to play and learn. This park construction is one of many parks being developed across the United States by the Cal Ripken Senior Youth Development Park initiative.

Timmons Group’s site development and landscape plan for the facility, constructed by FIELDS, Inc., will include state-of-the art synthetic turf youth fields, a natural grass full size field and an adaptive baseball field. Although the ball park will be operated by the Princess Anne Little League, The Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation will offer baseball and softball programs for at-risk youth to carry out their mission.
