Virginia’s Community Colleges Select Augusoft’s Lumens to Manage Workforce Noncredit and Continuing Education Program
Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) October 07, 2013 -- The Virginia Community College System (VCCS) announced Augusoft Lumens® enrollment management software has been purchased to facilitate delivery of noncredit workforce development and continuing education courses to students and clients through its 23 colleges and 40 campuses. With Augusoft Lumens software, system officials aim to improve the customers’ experience, while gaining efficiencies through improved noncredit management.
The Augusoft Lumens statewide implementation will include a custom interface to Oracle PeopleSoft®, centralized reporting capabilities, additional augmentations to the Lumens system, and on-going customer service support including onsite training from Augusoft in collaboration with LERN (Learning Resources Network).
“Virginia’s community college workforce leaders are at the center of their regions’ workforce efforts, and they collectively voiced the need for a web-based enrollment, payment, and activity management system to support Virginia’s noncredit students and clients. Implementation will support VCCS’ strategic plan, Achieve 2015, along with our statewide reengineering efforts,” said Dr. Craig Herndon, VCCS Vice Chancellor for Workforce Development Services. “We wanted a web-hosted and user-friendly software that would integrate with our current enterprise systems,” added Joy Hatch, Vice Chancellor of Information Technology Services.
Augusoft Lumens is the first cloud-based enrollment management system designed for continuing education. With Lumens, continuing education programs manage their open enrollment, certificate programs, workforce development, and corporate education businesses through a single system.
VCCS considered a number of vendors for this project, but selected Augusoft, largely because of the company’s breadth of experience in delivering and supporting similar systemwide installations for noncredit continuing education divisions.

The combined VCCS/Augusoft/LERN planning and development effort is underway, with training and implementation expected to begin in 2014.
