Virtek Expands Supply Chain Offering Into the Asia Pacific Region for the LaserQC Inspection System
Waterloo, Ontario, Canada (PRWEB) February 20, 2015 -- Virtek Vision International, a market leader in the field of laser-based manufacturing technologies, announced expansion of its Shanghai, China-based supply chain offering of the Virtek LaserQC® inspection system into the Asia Pacific region.
Virtek will leverage the 10-year supply chain history of its parent company, Gerber Technology, to produce high quality automation systems for worldwide distribution. “We are expanding our supply chain into the Asia Pacific region by leveraging Gerber’s existing infrastructure,” said Ray Campagnolo, Virtek director of operations. “This expansion will provide strong customer benefits and additional opportunities to the Asia Pacific marketplace. Customers will now have a local presence, reduced costs and decreased lead time.”
Gerber Technology’s Shanghai office will handle logistics and shipments, while Virtek will provide local contacts in sales, applications and service. The office also offers a two-floor, 18,000 sq. ft. demonstration center which houses a Virtek LaserQC 1200, and customers and partners can set up live demonstrations with local sales teams.
With an evolution of more than 15 years and over 1,000 systems installed worldwide, LaserQC is a family of rapid inspection systems designed in Canada. LaserQC employs lasers to measure the accuracy of two dimensional and formed parts to very tight tolerances. Advantageous for sheet metal and other manufacturing environments to improve quality control and reduce waste, LaserQC's intuitive user-interface allows all cutting and punch machine operators to quickly become fully proficient in proofing their own parts. The system is designed for first article inspection, quality reporting (SPC, ISO, Lean, etc.), as well as reverse engineering.
