Boston, MA (PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- Non-surgical rhinoplasty or nose shaping has quickly become the signature procedure performed by Masha Banar, Board Certified Physician Associate and Medical Director of Visage Sculpture. She started offering it few years ago and since then her technique has significantly evolved. Procedure became quicker, less painful, with minimal risks and down time. She is the go-to person to get a better shaped more proportional nose without surgery as she has done a significant number of the procedures to date (ABC News segment on non-surgical nose job).
Masha always cared about the safety of procedures she offers as much as the results. "You can never be too careful. It’s important to continue learning and stay on top of latest advancements to improve quality and safety of work," says Banar PA-C. She teams up with her former anatomy teacher at Tufts Medical School to review the intricate details of face anatomy in the cadaver lab from time to time. She also follows conferences and continues medical education monthly and stays on top of major medical publications for latest news and innovations in her industry.
“Complications after non-surgical rhinoplasty” was the most popular controversial topic at the latest International Multispecialty Symposium in Las Vegas in June 2013 (Vegas Cosmetic Surgery 2013). The worst possible risk is thrombosing a blood vessel by injecting non-dissolvable filler in it which leads to tissue necrosis. Although an extremely rare complication, it has been documented even by the most experienced Surgeons.
To lower the risk of procedure Masha has always practiced a very gentle special technique and the use of Doppler ultrasound to mark the blood vessels. She has now lowered the risk significantly more by adding the use of blunt microcannulas which allow sparing the blood vessels. They also lower the incidence of bruising and swelling significantly (Clinical Study: use of blunt microcannulas vs sharp needles).
Even though non-surgical procedures are considered safer than surgical they are not without the risk. It’s important to get good references about your medical provider and to ensure he or she is an expert.
