Ashburn, VA (PRWEB) August 11, 2016 -- This week, Visallo released version 2.0 of its big data analysis and visualization platform for investigators. Founded in late 2014, Visallo is quickly becoming an industry leader in investigative case management for the business and intelligence communities.
Visallo is led by a small group of technology experts with significant experience in the defense and intelligence industry. The company is focused on developing a versatile platform to address the big data analytics problems that challenge federal agencies, large enterprises, and other organizations that must quickly evaluate and manage large data sets to detect fraud, criminal activity, and terror threats.
“Our mission is to help investigators of all kinds find and expose people and organizations who defraud, perpetrate, terrorize, or generally exploit others,” says Jeff Kunkle, President of Visallo. “Visallo helps those investigators wade through massive amounts of data to quickly assemble the pieces of an often big, complicated puzzle.”
Visallo has applications for fraud investigators in the insurance and financial industries, law enforcement investigators, and counterterrorism analysts, among others.
Visallo 2.0 performance is dramatically improved and introduces new features to make an investigators job more efficient and thorough. Some noteworthy additions include:
- Enhanced, customizable dashboard for data visualization
- Excel and CSV import wizards allow any user to import data quickly
- Advanced searching options for finding similar and common data
- Multimedia indexing makes finding images, videos, and audio easy
- Saved searches to review, reuse, and share previous search criteria
- Timelines show event data chronologically
- Many new UI and analytic extension points
Additionally, Visallo 2.0 begins the migration to React. “Transitioning Visallo components to React is a vital step as the size of the platform grows. By moving rendering from templates/D3 to React, we eliminate whole classes of bugs,” said UI Engineering Lead Jason Harwig. “The transition will also promote a proliferation of shared components for third-party plugin developers.”
Visallo 2.0 represents a big step forward for collaborative big data management and analysis, and Kunkle says the company anticipates continued growth as more investigative organizations seek out big data analytics solutions.
