Vistra Communications Receives Veteran Institute for Procurement Certification
TAMPA, Fla. (PRWEB) December 07, 2015 -- Tampa-based strategic public relations and marketing firm, Vistra Communications, recently completed the National Center for Veteran Institute for Procurement (VIP) program. This comprehensive training helps veteran-owned businesses strengthen their ability to win government contracts by establishing and enhancing best business practices.
The first program of its kind in the nation, VIP covers the components necessary to win government contracts: law, accounting, insurance, human resources, marketing and proposals. Professional service experts, government officials, and agency representatives serve as volunteer instructors during the three-day, 27-hour comprehensive certification program. Vistra was among 50 businesses from 13 states and the District of Columbia to graduate.
“We are very excited to implement what we learned during this program,” said Vistra Communications president, Brian Butler. “Programs like these are critical for growing businesses such as ours and will help level the playing field for veteran-owned small businesses. Graduating from this program has already assisted us with strengthening our processes which will enable us to better compete in the dynamic world of federal government contracting. ”
Butler served 22 years in the military before retiring as a decorated army officer. His military experience and public relations background served as the foundation in establishing Vistra Communications in 2007, in part, to help others develop a strategy to achieve their dreams. The company has since grown into other business sectors.
