Visually Impaired Student William Desmas Seeks Crowdfunding Support to Graduate from Top Business School
Grenoble, France (PRWEB) January 11, 2016 -- William Desmas is all set to start an Indiegogo campaign to fund his higher education in the field of business management. A twenty-three years old student with serious visual impairment, William has fought against all odds so far to clear the entrance examination for Grenoble Ecole de Management. In spite of his impaired vision, he has always been extremely interested in science, economy, technology, sports, management, finance and many other topics. With adequate help from the Indiegogo community, William is now looking forward to graduating from Grenoble Ecole de Management.
William’s impairment requires a lot of motivation and energy to overcome. At times, it can also be extremely expensive. Throughout his life, William has wanted to be a living example that having a visual impairment is not the end of the story, just the beginning! He idolizes Warren Buffett and dreams of making the world financially more ethical. After three years of hard work, William got his license for the French Chartered Accountant path in 2014.
Grenoble Ecole de Management was recently ranked 20th amongst all European business schools by the Financial Times. Alongside this two-year program, William is also preparing for the next two years of the French Chartered Accountant path and a certificate on negotiation taught by the University of Michigan. However, at this juncture, the expenses related to his education have emerged as a serious concern for William.
Expressing his apprehension for the future, William states, “To work in finance and contribute to making the world more ethical, I need to graduate from Grenoble Ecole de Management. I managed to join the school, but at this moment, I’m not sure if I will realize my dream.”
William’s total school fees for two years are 23447 €. He also requires 4000 € for his impairment related screen reader and a compatible laptop. After receiving scholarships and bank loans, he is still left with a sizeable financial deficit. William is all set to start his crowdfunding campaign in the middle of January. He has set up a series of stretch goals as follows
•14500 €: Project funded.
•20000 €: William can buy a nomad Braille keyboard to study and work everywhere.
•29000 €: William’s level of living will improve significantly.
•38000 €: William will be able to start his business with 51% of profits given to charity projects.
Inviting backers to contribute, William stated, “If I present to you my situation, it is because you are my last and only option to help me achieve my dream. Support me and I will succeed as I have already done, to prove to the world that being visually impaired is not the end, and I will contribute to a better and more ethical world. ”
