VNA Rummage Sale Returns to Far Hills, NJ October 2- 4
Basking Ridge, NJ (PRWEB) September 29, 2015 -- Two acres of merchandise and 26 departments are waiting for bargain shoppers and garage sale fans at the VNA Rummage Sale, which will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 2, 3 and 4 at the Far Hills Fairgrounds, located at the corner of US Route 202 and Peapack Road in Far Hills, New Jersey. The sale is open 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, rain or shine.
“Antiques Roadshow” and Heritage Auctions veteran appraiser, Nick Dawes, will offer an appraisal service on Friday, October 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Members of the public are invited to bring personal heirlooms for an informal valuation of their worth. The $10 per item fee will be generously donated by Dawes to the VNA. Author of four standard works on decorative arts with over 100,000 copies in print, he is well known to many through 19 years of appearances as an appraiser for “Antiques Roadshow” on PBS. A local resident, Dawes grew up in the antiques trade in England and brings 40 years of experience. He is currently Vice President of Special Collections for Heritage Auctions in New York, and a former Vice President and Auctioneer for Sotheby’s.
Merchandise available at the volunteer-run VNA Rummage Sale includes adult and children’s clothing and accessories, furniture, home goods, pet supplies, artwork, toys, sporting goods, fine and costume jewelry, antiques, kitchenware, appliances, electronics, lighting fixtures, books, cameras, vintage items, musical instruments, vinyl records, fabric and sewing accessories, holiday decorations and more. Goods are checked for cleanliness and damage, and organized on racks and shelves.
Proceeds help the VNA give all families equal access to the agency’s full range of home health and hospice care services, regardless of their ability to pay. Funds raised also ensure that all members of our community can benefit from important and innovative programs uncompensated by Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance.

- Credit cards, cash and checks (with proper identification) are accepted in all departments.

- Food is available for purchase (cash only)
- Appraisals by Nick Dawes will be available on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Fee is $10 per item (Maximum 2).
- Flu shots (individuals over 18) will be available at the VNA information tent Friday and Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The cost per flu shot is $25 and is free for those covered under Medicare Part B.
