Volunteers from Best Drug Rehabilitation Helping Habitat for Humanity of Manistee Raise Funds on Dec. 6
(PRWEB) November 20, 2014 -- On December 6, 2014 from 11am until 8pm, enthusiastic volunteers from Best Drug Rehabilitation will be teaming up with volunteers from Habitat for Humanity of Manistee County to help raise much-needed funds that will be used to support home building projects starting around March 2015.
Best Drug Rehabilitation and Habitat for Humanity of Manistee County volunteers will be selling decorative cookies and wreaths, and the date has been chosen to coincide with Manistee’s legendary “Sleighbell Parade & Old Christmas Weekend”. The annual event, which runs this year in downtown Manistee from December 4 – 7, will feature a Victorian Sleighbell Parade complete with horse drawn carriages, bagpipers, dog sled teams, and carollers dressed up in Victorian attire.
“The work that the Habitat for Humanity of Manistee County volunteers do year 'round is incredible and inspirational,” commented Best Drug Rehabilitation’s CEO Per Wickstrom. “We’re honored and proud to join forces with them and help local families get a decent, safe and affordable home they can call their own. Manistee County Habitat for Humanity is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing, which are then sold to those in need at no profit and no interest. Volunteers provide the bulk of the labor, while individual and corporate donors provide money and materials. In addition, partner families also invest hundreds of hours of labor into both building their own home, and the homes of others.
