Volunteers Help Children's Hunger Fund Wrap 250k Toys
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) December 09, 2014 -- Volunteers across the country joined together to spread Christmas joy for children who might otherwise go without. A total of 5,265 joyful volunteers in Los Angeles, San Antonio, Chicago, and Dallas wrapped an unprecedented 232,682 toys for Children’s Hunger Fund’s (CHF) distribution to children in need. Each toy, donated by Ty Inc., will be used to “deliver hope” to children here in the U.S. and worldwide.
CHF has hosted this ever-growing Toy Wrap event for twenty-two years, engaging volunteers of all ages to help those in need.
“When I look around this room full of generous volunteers giving their time – literally thousands of work hours – I can’t help but think of that one child in poverty who will receive one of these toys,” said Children’s Hunger Fund president, Dave Phillips. “And it’s overwhelming to thing that that one toy will lead to a brand new opportunity to show God’s love and deliver hope to a child. It’s humbling to say the least.”
Following the final event on Saturday, December 6, Children's Hunger Fund produced a video recap of the event on YouTube (http://youtu.be/gUo2o_cSuZU).
Along with Ty Inc., generous sponsors like USANA True Health Foundation, Panera Bread, Western Bagel, Costco, Appfels Fine Coffees, and Ace Mart Restaurant Supply all joined together with CHF to make sure these toys were able to get to the kids who need them.
