vRad Education Scholarship Celebrates Fifth Anniversary
Fairfax VA (PRWEB) January 27, 2016 -- Since the first vRad (Virtual Radiologic) Educational Scholarship was awarded in 2011, vRad’s support for the educational mission of the Radiology Business Management Association (RBMA) has only grown. In 2016, six vRad Education Scholarships will be awarded.
The scholarships are made possible through the RBMA’s longtime partnership with vRad, the leading national teleradiology services and telemedicine company. Each scholarship covers meeting registration and travel costs of up to $1,500 for one of the three national meetings held by the RBMA in 2016.
“vRad’s partnership with the RBMA furthers our mission to help its 2,400 members enhance knowledge and understanding of the business of radiology,” said Benjamin W. Strong, MD (ABR, ABIM), vRad’s Chief Medical Officer. “Since change is a constant in radiology, ongoing education, peer-to-peer knowledge sharing and networking opportunities provide the foundation upon which to build a dynamic and secure future, while fostering innovation in our specialty.”
Michael Mabry, Executive Director of the RBMA, added, “vRad's unwavering support says volumes about the value it places on education. Even through challenging economic times, vRad has continued to give back to the field of radiology through its partnership with the RBMA and the dozens of individual scholarships it has funded over the years. Scholarship winners frequently say how transformative the experience of attending a conference was for them and their careers, and we are so pleased to be working with vRad on extending this opportunity to six more RBMA members this year.”
“I can’t say thank you enough to both vRad and the RBMA for providing this opportunity to learn and share with my peers, and to bring back so many ideas and suggestions to continue to improve on what I already do,” recalled 2014 scholarship recipient Michelle R. Juette, CPC, RCC. “The educational and networking opportunities and contacts that I came away with are invaluable, and I look forward to seeing everybody at a future meeting.”
To be eligible for a 2016 vRad Educational Scholarship, an applicant must be a current RBMA member who has not attended a national RBMA meeting in the past three years. Application deadlines vary by which meeting the scholarship is being applied for. For 2016, they are as follows:
