As part of the KTC automotive tool box designed for the military, the vehicle pads are placed on the sand to stabilize the jacks when repairing Humvees and over-sized vehicles. The material for the pads has to be extremely tough and durable since it constantly rubs against the hot sand, supports heavy vehicles and comes in contact with auto grease and chemicals.
