Wakely Consulting Group Offers Complimentary Webinar Series on “Gaining Insight from the First Year of the Affordable Care Act”
Denver, CO (PRWEB) July 28, 2015 -- Wakely Consulting Group is offering a two-part webinar series that will cover the lessons learned from the first year of ACA and analytics to gain insight from the 2014 data that is now available to health plans. The free webinar is scheduled for August 5th, 1-2pm Eastern, and August 13th, 1-2pm Eastern. Those interested may register for the webinar by emailing at the contact information provided alongside this release (space is limited).
The first webinar will discuss the crucial role that good data plays in ensuring that health plan issuers receive appropriate payment calculations from the risk mitigation programs such as reinsurance and risk adjustment. The discussion will include case studies highlighting issues that were commonly encountered by health plans in 2014. The webinar will draw upon the innovative work that Wakely has performed in the areas of identifying members and conditions that have been under-coded, identification of deficiencies in EDGE data, and reconciling CMS reinsurance and risk adjustment calculations.
The second webinar will focus on the importance of analyzing 2014 experience in order to learn from it and inform business strategies for the new healthcare landscape. Wakely has designed and developed a rigorous process to take in EDGE XML data that is readily available to health plans, and run a proprietary set of algorithms in order to ascertain where the business is working and where it needs improvement at an extremely granular level. Similar analyses used to focus on cost-controls, however with risk adjustment the answer to the question of where a health plan needs to improve can often be counter-intuitive.
Syed Mehmud, Director and Senior Consulting Actuary at Wakely Consulting Group will be the lead presenter for the webinars, and will be joined by other Wakely colleagues and experts. He will describe a set of advanced algorithms designed to uncover gaps in data that lead to depleted risk scores and revenue that is lost to the competition. The discussion will include reporting to analyze EDGE data and reconciling CMS calculations. Syed will also describe a ground-breaking analytical product that has the capability to efficiently and comprehensively analyze emerging ACA experience in order to reveal key drivers of profitability and aid in developing successful strategies for the future.
