Walsingham Academy Announces New Strength and Conditioning Program for Student Athletes
Williamsburg, VA (PRWEB) June 14, 2014 -- Walsingham Academy is pleased to launch a new Strength and Conditioning program June 2014. This yearlong program is sponsored by Walsingham’s Athletic Booster Club and run in conjunction with Tidewater Performance, the program is available free of charge for all rising eighth through twelfth grade Trojan athletes. The structured program is designed to increase overall body strength and contribute to injury prevention.
“One of the best lessons our children can learn from competitive sports is the correlation between preparation, hard work, and athletic achievement,” said Athletic Director Neil Bailey. “Walsingham is dedicated to providing opportunities for student athletes to invest in their success and sharpen their skills on the court and fields.”
Tadd Bower, a Certified Strength Coach at Tidewater Performance, will run the program. Bower has a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the College of William & Mary, where he was a four-year starter in baseball as a first baseman and left fielder. He is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, USA Weightlifting, and Crossfit.
“To say I’m excited to work with Walsingham’s athletes would be an understatement,” said Bower. “It’s a big opportunity for them, and depending on their existing level of fitness and their level of focus, the athletes will be stronger and able to move much more efficiently.”
Tidewater Performance is a part of Tidewater Physical Therapy, which was founded in 1986 to support the active work, play, and daily living needs of people in the greater Tidewater Community. Tidewater is dedicated to clinical excellence in sports medicine, fitness, and athletic performance.
