In full time employees, the rate of depression is 5.6%, while it is 5.1% among those self employed on a full time basis. This survey was carried out from January 1 to July 25, 2013, with over a 100,000 people. In a nutshell, it means that the employed are much safer, as they have lesser chances of getting affected by depression over those unemployed and wanting to work.
It is said that the country’s economic revival is expected to face more severe and negative brunt of the obstinately increasing percentage of underemployment and unemployment. The menace doesn’t stop there; there’s an all time risk to Americans’ welfare and mental fitness, which can pose a bigger challenge to the nation at large.
