Wasatch Academy's 1875 Original School House Restored; Serves as School's Museum and Will Host Community Open House
Mount Pleasant, Utah (PRWEB) December 22, 2013 -- Wasatch Academy is pleased to announce the opening of their newly restored museum, Liberal Hall. The building was constructed in 1875, and is the oldest commercial building in Mt. Pleasant. The structure is the first site of Wasatch Academy, the oldest continuously operating secondary school in the state of Utah.
Wasatch Academy invites everyone to an Open House at Liberal Hall, January 11, 2014 between the hours of 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Liberal Hall is located at 67 West Main, Mount Pleasant, Utah. Explore the history of the school and learn about the interaction between Wasatch Academy and residents of the Sanpete Valley.
Enjoy exhibits which include original photos from Ansel Adams who's son graduated from Wasatch Academy. There are collections of paintings by local artist John Stansfield, a water color by Herman Groutage, a well-known Utah painter and many archives rich with history.
