Washington, DC Plastic Surgeon Dr. Roberta L. Gartside Attends ASAPS Educational Conference
Reston, VA (PRWEB) September 29, 2013 -- Dr. Roberta L. Gartside of New Image Plastic Surgery Associates attended a 7-day conference which concentrated on the prevention and treatment of plastic surgery complications. The conference was sponsored by the ASAPS, and took place on an Alaska cruise.
Educational areas included breast surgery, especially breast augmentation, breast asymmetry, fillers, and facial surgery. The cruise took place August 7 through August 14.
"I learned first of all that I was already doing a lot of the same things others were doing in the approach and treatment of our patients, that was a great reaffirmation,” said Washington D.C. plastic surgeon Dr. Gartside. “Even when one has been in practice for over twenty years you cannot take what you know for granted.”
Dr. Gartside said that one area where she picked up the most helpful tips were with the injection of fillers - particularly at the corner of the mouth and the lower eyelid area. She explained that the conference also covered:
• Treatment and “prevention” of breast augmentation capsular contracture
• How to avoid the facelift “look”
• What to do for patients after massive weight loss
The conference hosted about 40 Plastic Surgeons - both national and international guests attended. Attendees also participated in comprehensive one-on-one instructions and discussions.
Not only was the conference educational, Dr. Gartside also said she and her family also enjoyed whale watching, spotting bald eagles, landing on a glacier via helicopter and drinking the glacial water.
